Claude Team Plan (2026): The $125/Month Floor Nobody Mentions

TL;DR: $25/Seat Is the Sticker. $125/Month Is the Price.

Anthropic's pricing page tells you Team is $25 a seat. It doesn't lead with the part that decides the purchase: the 5-seat minimum. A 2-person agency pays $125/month. A 3-person team pays $125/month. You're buying five seats whether you fill them or not.

I install Claude Team for small businesses as my actual job, so I've watched owners hit this line item with both reactions — "that's a rounding error" and "why am I paying for ghosts?" Both are rational. Which one you should have depends on what you're buying Team for, and that's the useful question this post answers. Claude Team Plan Pricing at a Glance (2026)

Annual prepay puts the 5-seat floor at $1,500/year. That's the honest way to think about Team: not "$25 a seat" but "a $1,500/year commitment that happens to include five seats." Price it against what you'd pay a human for the same work and it stops looking like a software line item.

What Team Actually Buys That Pro Doesn't

If Team were just "Pro, but five of them," the 5-seat minimum would be indefensible — Pro is $20/month and you could buy exactly as many as you have humans. Team's case rests on four things Pro can't do:

• Claude Cowork. The agentic layer — 8 native connectors (QuickBooks, HubSpot, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, DocuSign, PayPal), 15 ready-to-run workflows, 15 reusable skills your whole team shares. • A shared workspace. Shared Projects, shared Skills, shared knowledge bases — the setup work one person does compounds for everyone. On Pro, every seat rebuilds the same context alone.
• The no-train contract. Team and Enterprise get a written guarantee that your data isn't used for model training. If you're pasting client financials into a chat window, "in writing" matters.
• Admin controls. Boring until someone leaves the company still logged into the AI that knows your margins.

My honest read after a year of installs: Cowork is the purchase. The rest is furniture. If your business doesn't run on tools Cowork connects to, Team's premium over a fistful of Pro seats gets hard to justify — and I say that as someone who makes money installing it. Claude Enterprise Pricing: The Other Explosion

Searches for Claude Enterprise pricing are up nearly 20x this year, so here's the straight answer nobody publishes: there is no public price. Enterprise is custom, and industry sources put it around $60–$150 per seat per month with 20+ seat minimums. Floor math: $14,400–$36,000 per year before you've negotiated anything.

What that buys over Team: SSO, advanced admin, larger context windows, dedicated support, custom SLAs, and the compliance certifications (SOC 2, HIPAA) that regulated industries can't skip. What it does not buy: smarter Claude. The models are the models.

The decision rule I give clients is one sentence: you graduate to Enterprise when a compliance requirement forces you to, not before. Under 50 employees with no regulator in your life, Team covers 99% of what you'll actually do — at roughly a tenth of the floor.

Claude Team vs ChatGPT Team

Same $25/seat sticker, two differences that matter as of 2026:

• The floor. ChatGPT Team's minimum is 2 seats ($50/month); Claude's is 5 ($125/month). For a 2-person shop, OpenAI is charging you for the team you have and Anthropic is charging you for the team you might become.
• The connector ecosystem. Claude's bet is Cowork's native business connectors — QuickBooks and HubSpot in particular are SMB-shaped choices. Pick based on which list matches the tools you already pay for, not on benchmark charts. Deeper comparison in Claude vs ChatGPT for small business.

The Failure Mode Isn't the Price

Here's the pattern I see on installs: the subscription was never the problem. The problem is five seats of a brilliant generalist that nobody configured — no business context, no skills, connectors authorized but unused. That's $1,500/year of rented office space with the lights off.
