Granola Pricing (2026): Free, $14 or $35 a Seat, and the Privacy Settings Only One Plan Enforces
The short answer
Granola costs $0 per user per month on Basic, $14 on Business and $35 on Enterprise, as of September 2026. Basic is genuinely free and takes real AI meeting notes, but it only shows your last 30 days of meetings. For a business the number that matters is not the price. It is who controls the privacy settings: on Basic and Business, each person decides whether their notes can be used for model training and whether the other people on the call are told Granola is running. Only Enterprise lets an admin enforce those for everyone.
Everything below is from Granola's own pricing page and plan table, read September 24, 2026. Granola lists one price per plan and shows no annual discount.
Granola's plans, side by side
| Basic | Business | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $14 per user / month | $35 per user / month |
| Meeting history | 30 days | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails | No | Yes | Yes |
| Notion, HubSpot, Zapier, Attio integrations | No | Yes | Yes |
| Salesforce | No | No | Yes |
| MCP (Claude, ChatGPT) | Personal notes, last 30 days | Personal and workspace notes | Admin-configurable |
| Training opt-out | Per user | Per user | Workspace-wide |
| Telling others Granola is on | Per user | Per user | Admin-enforceable |
| HIPAA workspaces, SSO | No | No | Yes |
Every plan gets bot-free capture from your device's audio, desktop and mobile apps, speaker tagging, templates, SOC 2 Type II, a DPA, and deletion of the audio once it has been transcribed.
Is Granola free?
Yes, and not as a trial. Basic is $0 and takes AI notes on every meeting, with AI chat across them. The catch is the history window: Basic shows 30 days of meetings. That is fine if notes are disposable, and a problem if Granola quietly becomes where your client history lives, because month two starts hiding month one.
The same window applies to the MCP connection. On Basic, Claude or ChatGPT can only reach your personal notes from the last 30 days. If your plan is to paste call notes into an assistant for follow-ups (use case 8 in my Claude Cowork use cases), free works. Asking "what did this client say in March?" does not.
How Granola's privacy settings actually work: what the $14 plan does not include
This is the part the pricing cards skip. Two settings on Granola's own table change by plan, not just features:
- The model training opt-out. Per user on Basic and Business. Workspace-wide only on Enterprise.
- Letting people know you're using Granola. Per user on Basic and Business. Admin-enforceable only on Enterprise.
So a ten-person team on Business has ten separate privacy settings, one per person, and no admin switch. Making them enforceable costs $21 more per seat per month, which is $2,520 a year for ten people. Whether that is worth it depends on your clients. If your contracts promise confidentiality, or your team records calls with people outside the company, a per-user toggle is a policy you are trusting everyone to follow.
If you stay on Business, write the rule down. An AI acceptable use policy that says "turn on the training opt-out and the participant notice before your first call" costs nothing and turns a toggle into a requirement you can check.
Is Granola HIPAA compliant?
Only on Enterprise. HIPAA-compliant workspaces are listed on the $35 plan and nowhere else. SOC 2 and audio deletion on the cheaper plans are good hygiene, not a business associate arrangement. If you handle patient information, the same rule applies to every AI tool your staff touches, which I walk through in Is Claude HIPAA compliant?
Granola vs Fireflies on price
Fireflies publishes both monthly and annual prices, which makes it easy to overpay by skipping the annual toggle:
| 10 people, per year | Price used | Annual cost |
|---|---|---|
| Granola Business | $14 per user / month | $1,680 |
| Fireflies Pro, annual | $10 per seat / month | $1,200 |
| Fireflies Business, annual | $19 per seat / month | $2,280 |
| Fireflies Business, monthly | $29 per seat / month | $3,480 |
| Granola Enterprise | $35 per user / month | $4,200 |
| Fireflies Enterprise (annual only) | $39 per seat / month | $4,680 |
Fireflies' free plan caps storage at 400 minutes per team, so it runs out by volume. Granola's free plan runs out by time. Pick the limit your team will hit last.
The owner's version
For one person, Basic is enough to find out whether you actually read your meeting notes. For a team, Business at $14 is the real starting price, because 30 days of history is not a system. Go to Enterprise only if you need HIPAA, SSO, Salesforce, or you want the privacy settings enforced rather than requested.
The bigger win is what happens after the call. Notes that turn into a follow-up and a CRM update the same hour are worth far more than a better transcript, and it is the same logic behind building an AI executive assistant out of tools you already pay for. If you want it running for your team in a week, with the privacy rules written down, that is part of my Claude for Small Business install.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How much does Granola cost?
- As of September 2026 Granola has three plans: Basic at $0 per user per month, Business at $14 per user per month, and Enterprise at $35 per user per month. Basic includes AI meeting notes and AI chat but only 30 days of meeting history. Business adds unlimited history, integrations with Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity and Zapier, and API access. Enterprise adds SSO, HIPAA-compliant workspaces, Salesforce and admin-enforced privacy settings.
- Is Granola free?
- Yes. Granola's Basic plan is $0 per user per month and includes AI meeting notes, AI chat across meetings, shared folders and note templates. The limit is history: Basic shows only the last 30 days of meetings, and its MCP connection to Claude or ChatGPT only reaches personal notes from those 30 days. Pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails and integrations like Notion and HubSpot start on Business at $14.
- What does Granola Business include that Basic does not?
- Unlimited meeting notes and history, access to more advanced AI models with model selection, pre-meeting briefs, follow-up emails, a workspace-wide dictionary, integrations with Notion, Zapier, HubSpot, Attio and Affinity, full MCP access, API access, and centralized billing. It is $14 per user per month on Granola's pricing page as of September 2026.
- Is Granola HIPAA compliant?
- Only on Enterprise. Granola's plan table lists HIPAA-compliant workspaces as Enterprise-only, at $35 per user per month. SOC 2 Type II certification, a DPA and deletion of audio after transcription are included on every plan, but none of that makes Basic or Business suitable for patient information.
- Can an admin stop Granola from training on the team's data?
- Only on Enterprise. Granola's table lists the model training opt-out as a per-user setting on Basic and Business and a workspace-wide setting on Enterprise. The same split applies to notifying other meeting participants that Granola is running: per user below Enterprise, admin-enforceable on it. On Business, each person has to switch it themselves.
- Is Granola cheaper than Fireflies?
- Per seat on paid plans it is close. Granola Business is $14 per user per month with no annual price shown. Fireflies Pro is $10 per seat billed annually or $18 monthly, and Fireflies Business is $19 annually or $29 monthly. For ten people, Granola Business is $1,680 a year, Fireflies Pro $1,200 annually and Fireflies Business $2,280 annually (September 2026 pricing pages).

Claude Artifacts (2026): What They Are, Who Can Open Them, and the Sharing Rules That Bite a Business
A Claude artifact is anything Claude makes that you would put in front of someone: a doc, a deck, a design, a dashboard or a small app. They work on every plan, including Free. The part nobody explains is who can open one: in the new Claude experience every viewer needs a Claude account, and an AI-powered artifact spends the viewer's usage, not yours. Here is how artifacts actually work as of September 2026.
